Comments of Interest: Inventors pursue patents to protect their designs. If
someone copies your design because you did not patent protect it, you should
blame no one but yourself. You made mistake. Live and learn from it. Companies
always try to imitate their competitors' success. That's capitalism.
Replies: It amazes me how ignorant some people are of reality. They want
to justify theft of your business while throwing people in jail for stealing
your car. Theft is theft and theft of an idea, copying some else's product,
is theft not "reveres engineering". We certainly would not accept it in a
child who copies another's science project or term paper so why accept it in
an adult that copies some one else's product. Patent, you got the $20,000 to
file for one and the $200,000 to defend it? Remember this is not some
Chinese copy that copied it but an American company that we helped developed
their business over 8 years. Ethics in business reflect ethics in life. Do
you want to do business with people that do not act honorably? Copying is
not Capitalism. Capitalism is doing it yourself. Giving a dollars
value for a dollar. Not only is that Capitalism, it is the American way of
doing business.
